Our quick flight from Augusta to Philadelphia

Yes, our travel plans have been made and our 3-day Staging will take place in Philadelphia, where we will then all depart for Cameroon. It worked out well because we can fly right out of the little airport in Augusta, where we’ll be staying in Georgia temporarily before and after our service. That will be a lot better than navigating Hartsfield-Jackson International in Atlanta, which is quite large, and which is also quite far from Augusta.

Staging will entail our group of volunteers going through orientation and some basic training, lots of paperwork, and getting all the necessary shots we need. At that time we will also start taking our Malaria medication, which we’ll have to take daily for the duration of our service. With 3 weeks to go until we are in Cameroon, our anticipation and excitement grows with every day!

My partner and I are applying for the Peace Corps now. I just came across your blog (found it on Technorati) and already I’m learning tons. (like, I never even thought about having to take malaria meds throughout your term. It’s the details that we’re interested in.) Thanks for sharing the process with us!
